An actor listens to, and later performs, the final words of suicidal biographer Robert Moore; a tape recording of a diatribe about his ruined career and its parallels with his final, forgotten subject, the French geometer Tomas Laurent.

His director discusses and debates the nuances of Moore’s character with him, and faces the probing questions of two journalists invited onto the set to discuss his career in film.
